See No Evil My Pretty Lady by Miss Mae

From Books to Movies:

Title: "See No Evil, My Pretty Lady"

Written by: Miss Mae

Hero: Gareth Davenport. Dark, mysterious, brooding. Wears an eye patch and black leather gloves. Hmm, Colin Firth from "Pride and Prejudice" who played Mr. Darcy would fit my hero perfectly!

Heroine: Dorcy Edwards. Shy, alone in the world, vulnerable, very attractive. Jane Seymour might could do her well. (at a younger age, of course!)

There's an old friend of Gareth's named Matthew. I think Viggo Mortensen would be perfect cast in this role. And he's married to Gareth's ex-girlfriend, Felicity. She's beautiful, haughty, spoiled, spiteful. Ah, I can see Vivian Leigh bringing this character to life!

James Mason is ideal for the role of Inspector Sosby. And Kate Winslet would do well as the maid, Alice.

The older couple who sponsor Dorcy and take her into their home in her hour of need is Ulysses and Hazel Butterfield. They need to be portrayed by Ian McKellen and Judi Dench (both well-padded out, though!)

Oh, I can't give away the villain because I'd be telling that it's a he or she!

Remember the game 'Clue'? It's a murder mystery and the object is to guess who, where, and with what object the person was killed. And you were one of the characters of several who made up the sleuthing party. "See No Evil, My Pretty Lady" is such a story. But for added spice, Jack the Ripper is making the news and you must also deduce which character just might be this fiend. (As "his" identity was never discovered, quite possibly "he" was a "she"! But I won't tell. That's for the reader to ferret out.)

If my book were made into a movie, these stars could unfold the drama and suspense in a stupendous way! So Hollywood, where do I sign the dotted line?????

Avenging Angel by Kim Smith

I have always known that my book, Avenging Angel, if picked up by
Hollywood
would have to have Sandra Bullock play the lead role
and
Eddie Murphy play the supporting male. Her emotional journey
in The Divine Secrets of the YaYa
Sisterhood was just exactly how
my character is portrayed in the book, and
Eddie’s flippant,
wise-cracking Donkey in
Shrek is just sooooo Dwayne Brown
from the book.

What is the title of your book?

Avenging Angel, a Shannon Wallace mystery

What name is the book released under?

My own, Kim Smith, although I did consider

using a pen name. The name of Kim Smith is also the trademark for
a
fabulously famous swimsuit model. Whilst I would love to be
mistaken for
her, I am no model. I don't even own a swimsuit for
um... various reasons
which will remain unmentionable. I do write
books though and hope to develop
a trademark of my own with the
Shannon Wallace series.

Hero- Shannon Wallace is the main character and
protagonist in the book.

Her
side-kick, Dwayne Brown is her gay best friend, and oftentimes
the bunched
blanket in her saddle as they ride through this book.
The bad guy is the
killer of Shannon’s former boss and boyfriend
Rick Fine. And unfortunately,
the killer knows one of her darkest
secrets and uses it against her in the
book. The secret, while dark
to Shannon, will give the readers a laugh that
will carry them to
the end as they try to unravel the mystery.

to be
released from Enspiren Press and will be available at local
booksellers as
well as online.

Any other special character that really stands out to
readers. In this case,
tell us the part they play in the
book, some details about them and who should

play them in the movie.

One other character to mention is the detective
investigating
the murder. His name is, Salvador Ramirez and Shannon is a

serious pain in his neck. Shannon, Sal, and Dwayne all went to
college together,
and this threesome will keep the reader
giggling throughout the entire work.

Sinbad's Last Voyage by Toni Sweeney

Tell us a little about each of these characters and then give us the names of several actors or actresses that you think should play them if a movie is made from you book.

What is the title of your book?

Sinbad's Last Voyage

What name is the book released under?

The same.

Hero

Sinbad sh'en Singh. He's a product of the Terro-Felidan War which raged for eleven years before his people were conquered. The Terra Federation declared all conquered people "animals" until they're at last allowed into the Federation Council but in Sinbad's case, that label was never taken from his people, so he's considered an articulate feline. The son of a Felidan woman and a Terran soldier who was a prisoner of war, he was taken to Earth at age three to be the chief witness in his father's court marshal and when his father was sent to prison, went with him. He escaped from the prison at age fourteen. Though he's never been inside a school--he was taught to read and write by one of the other prisoners--he can speak 15 languages and knows the protocols and laws of most of the planets in the Federation. He is also the grandson of one of the remaining Pride Chiefs of Felida. Since Felidans are feline, Sinbad looks like a human cat, with a wild curly mane, eyes with elliptical irises, and fangs and claws that he can spring when needed. He also purrs when he's happy. For some reason, I see him as a red-haired Tom Welling.

Heroine

Andrea Talltrees is an adopted Navajo, raised by her father's best friend after he is MIA and her mother dies. She's spoiled and sheltered and has never had an unhappy day until her husband is arrested as a spy. She's small, blonde, and doesn't take any guff from anybody but tremendously naive--a perfect foil for Sinbad's wicked sense of humor. The fact that she is two years older than Sin doesn't sit very well with her. I've envisioned Fergie as playing Andi.

The hero and/or heroine's children

Andi has a son, Acashi, with her husband Tran. Cash is fifteen--a very adult fifteen--when the story opens and doesn't figure very much in the first book. In later books, his relationship with Sinbad and his heritage from his father are explored more closely. Sinbad and Andi have one child who is born at the end of the first book. By Book Four, they have a houseful of children and grandchildren who have adventures of their own. Matt Dallas of Kyle XY could probably get away with playing this fifteen-year-old!

The best friend (if there is one)

Sin's best friend is Jake Goldstein, the bartender of the Asteroid Cantina. Jake is a master hacker, counterfeiter, and acquisitions master, arranging for sale of the items Sinbad smuggles to Earth and back. He helps him get Andi off-planet by making up false identities for her. I see Jake as looking like James Roday of Psych.

The villain or bad guy

Tran is the nominal villain of the piece, although the Albegensi who attack Terra and the Federation itself are always hovering in the background. Arrested as a spy because he's an Albegensi, Tran escapes and leaves the planet. The fact that he doesn't acknowledge any of Sinbad's messages asking him to wait for Andi and is speeding toward a planet known to be his own people hereditary enemy makes Sin wonder if he's as innocent as Andi claims. When they actually find Tran, they discover he has his own plans of invasion for Earth and the present war is going to distract the Federation long enough for him to act. I've always thought Tran looked a little like Joaquin Phoenix.

There's one character--Cassay. Cassay is a transvestite, and Sin alternately treats him with scorn and condescencion. When Cassay rescues him from Prince Ludsa's henchmen and helps him escape, he changes his attitude. I have no idea who could play Cassay. It would have to be an actor who's young enough and small enough to look slightly feminine--and brave enough to play a transvestite!

Nimrod Rising - A Novel By Steven Clark Bradley

Tell us a little about each of these characters and then give us the names of several actors or actresses that you think should play them if a movie is made from you book.

What is the title of your book?-

Nimrod Rising

What name is the book released under? - Steven Clark Bradley

Hero- My main hero of the novel has to be the character, Shepard Michael. Shepard is the son of Manassa Dormin who is the villain in the story. He is abused and used by his father to bring about the final destruction, but he remembers the principles that his mother taught him and resists his natural inclination for evil. I think we can all relate to him in that we have all had to resist doing wrong, and the wrong has often been an easier decision for us than the good. He is a really powerful figure in the story and very profound in his outlook. I would choose Christian Bale, the fine actor from Batman Begins and the Prestige to play Shepard Michael during his grown up years and a fine young actor, Seth Adkins to play Shepard's younger years. Both roles are very powerful and need powerful actors.

Heroine - This is difficult to choose since there are three major female characters. The first two are Sally Michael, Shepard's mother. She was kidnapped as a believer in God and forced to have Manassa Dormin's child. She is really such a strong character and strong in faith. I would choose Sandra Bulloch to play this part. Sandra Bulloch is a powerful actress with a face of strength and purity. She too is Jewish as Sally is. Her talents would fill this role perfectly.

Also, there is Elif Michael (Karaoglu) the Turkish wife of Shepard Michael who worked for Manassa Dormin but finds faith and turns her life and family around. She too is large in meaning in the story. As to her role in a film, I would pick Kate Beckinsale, star of the TV series, Underworld Star. Elif is a trained assassin and is also a very feminine woman in the book. Kate Beckinsale fits the package in both catagories.

Yet, I have to say that the most powerful figure in the story is the six year old child of Shepard and Elif, Jesse. She possesses the powers of her daddy and grandfather, but the heart of the child shines through so powerfully how she reaches out to the grandfather and finds the miniscule residue of humanity left in Manassa Dormin. She can bring tears to the reader's eyes and truly wins the day through the wisdom of a child. I would choose Elle Fanning for this role. She is a fine little actress and fits my idea perfectly as I perceived Jesse.

The villain or bad guy - Manassa Dormin is really the focus of the story of Nimrod Rising. He is the 666th generation from Nimrod some 4000 years earlier. Dormin is found at the door of a police station and his parent s are never found. He is adopted by an older couple and raised as a Christian. He believes himself to be a believer but is confronted with his fate as the antichrist. The transformation he endures and his struggle against accepting his calling is a profound adventure into the spiritual world of darkness. After he finally allows the force of darkness to invade him fully, he has no turning back and finally wrestles and wins control of the world. He is very human, but somehow very determined to destroy humanity. His character is vicious and brutal and smart. He is appealing and repelling at the same time, which is normal for the son of the devil. He is a very aggressive figure throughout the story. I would choose Keanu Reeves for the role of Manassa Dormin. He fits the part perfectly and has played very good people such as Neo in the Matrix and very evil in The Watcher. He can look good as a nice guy and appealing as a bad one. He is an excellent actor and would fit the part!

The two other very important characters in Nimrod Rising are Mike Wakely and Gabriel. Mike Wakely is an archeologist who knew Dormin in Pakistan where they both were missionaries at the beginning of the book. Mike plays a vital role as the brains of the opposition against Dormin and is British. He is witty and smart and has a large role in part two of the novel. I would pick actor Hugh Laurie of the TV drama, House. Laurie is an Englishman of tremendous wit and talent. He is the exact personification of Mike Wakely. He'd be magnificent! Gabriel is the founder of the movement called the MESSE, Messianic Servants of Elyon. He is a quiet soldier who shows lots of courage and intelligence and devotion to God and country. I would enlist Bruce Willis for this role. Willis has taken on many smaller roles that were yet strong and important in the film, such as in Pulp Fiction. He'd be excellent in the role.
